Who Joins CPrint®?

Practically all shops in CPrint® have 20 or fewer workers, most are in the 4 to 12 range (including owners) – although some are bigger and some smaller. Sales are anywhere from $200,000 to over $3 million, but mostly in the $300,000 – $1.2 million range. All of the shops are owner-managed. Most have a single location – although some have a second. Most opened in the 1980’s or 1970’s although several were opened more recently and a few go back many generations.

Importantly, a competitive buffer zone of printers is afforded each affiliate so that it is less likely that affiliates will compete with each other in commerce. That’s no guarantee, but it allows us to share freely and openly – and train our people together – and deal with our real issues.

As for equipment, most of us have offset and generally we have true two-color presses such as the Heidelberg PrintMaster or the Ryobi 3302. We print pleasing color as well as one and two-color work. Additionally, about one-fourth of all CPrinters maintain a mailing operation within their facility as well as a standard light bindery.

A number of CPrinters have larger commercial equipment. Today, most of us have some sort of digital output devices as well such as the Konica-Minolta 6500. Many of us, through CPrint® training and resources, provide Managed Marketing Services to customers such as websites, email broadcasting, QR codes and more.

Essentially we are family-based business owners who happen to be printers who participate. Half of us have a family member working with them and one-fourth of us have a son or daughter in the business.
