What Would You Change?

I ask printers frequently, “If you had one business wish to change something, what would it be?”  Many have no idea. We miss the big picture. We’re not in our ship’s wheelhouse steering, rather we’re in the boiler room shoveling.

So what one change would help you the most?Change

Think about it this week. Once identified, plan for what could make the change happen.

“How are sales?”

I ask that as well. Almost universally the response is, “Pretty good right now,” or “This is always a slow period.”

The focus is most always on the short term: this week or this month.

Rarely is the longer term considered. More shoveling instead of steering.

What is your three year sales trend?

Being up ten percent this year isn’t as significant if you were down ten percent the year before. If you’re not growing, what can you do to reverse it?
